Overview

A flat, largely peaceful walk from the free car park on the south side of Corbridge looping around the River Tyne by track to Dilston Hamlet and then returning alongside a short stretch of B road before cutting through fields to the start point.

En route we pass by the old Roman road Dere Street and the remains of an old Roman bridge.  There are great views along the riverbank and to Corbridge opposite.

Those who wish to extend their time in the village after the walk can cross over the main bridge into the pretty centre for coffee and shopping (Sunday hours permitting).

A little further outside the town are the remains of the old Roman town.
