An exploration of Reading on foot, following the Thames, the Kennet and Prospect Park.
Advance booking is not required, but if you plan on attending this walk, please indicate this on Meetup if you can (see Website link), so others can see that there will be plenty of people going.
Pace: medium.
Walk details
From the station, we’ll go up to the Thames and follow the Thames Path downriver, crossing a couple of times. Then we'll join up with the Kennet where it flows in, and follow the path through the middle of the town centre and out the other end.
We’ll continue along the Kennet until we reach Southcote Lock, where we’ll cross over and head north through Southcote to Prospect Park. Afterwards we’ll follow Tilehurst Road and Oxford Road back into town.
