Overview

The Thames Path is a 182 mile National Trail stretching from London to Gloucestershire. This year, the group will aim to cover the whole trail from start to finish! Following the success of our London legs, the following 4 walks in this series will take us through our humble county of Berkshire from Windsor to Goring!

To add some fun to our adventure, you are encouraged to purchase the Thames Passport where we will collect stamps at over 30 stamping stations along the Path. Collect stamps at all the various stations and you can receive a Certificate of Completion for doing the whole trail from start to finish! The link to purchase the passport is here: https://walkthethames.co.uk/thames-path-passport/

Please note that the walk leaders will be at Strawberry Grove cafe from 10:15 am. Feel free to join before we start the walk!

Part 7 of our Thames Path adventure will see us meander between two famous Chiltern towns. Heading out from Strawberry Grove café in Marlow, this first part of the walk will see us having to take a diversion away from the Thames owing to a long standing broken footbridge at Hurley. We will still pass through the lovely village of Bisham and pass Bisham Abbey, the National Sports Centre and headquarters of the England football team.

Eventually we will arrive in Hurley where we will pay a brief visit to the Rising Sun pub to collect another stamp. We will then head onto our lunch stop in a large meadow after a caravan park with a view of Danesfield House on the top of the cliff.

After lunch, we will continue towards Culham estate and eventually make it to the Flower Pot in Aston for a longer pub stop.

The final part will see us pass through Hambleden Lock and Temple Island, the start of the Henley Regatta course before crossing Henley Bridge into Henley, another leg ticked off!
