We will walk along the Middlewood Way, through woods which can be muddy and a bit uneven at places, and then across Marple golf course. Onto Macclesfield Canal and up to Marple Memorial Park for lunch. Bring your own lunch. There are toilets here and plenty of seating. There is a War Memorial and other historical artifacts in the park and fabulous views of the Peak District on a clear day. We continue back along the canal up to Brabyn's park, where we walk up one side to the Iron gate, made by Salford Iron Works and back along the river Goyt to the road leading to Marple station. It's not pushchair/wheelchair or dog friendly unfortunately. People can leave at the Memorial park if they wish for the train station.
