Overview

Starting from Rye in East Sussex, this leisurely route measures out at only around 9.5 miles, so gives plenty of opportunity to explore in more depth some of the historic sites of this famous delightful town on our return to Rye.

On leaving the station, we join the High Weald Landscape Trail, before reaching Rolvendene Farm, then onwards to Leasam Hill. Carrying onto Leasam Farm, we head west, to soon turn north to reach Bowlers Town. Edging close to Tighes Wood and Iden Park, we arrive at Iden church where our snack/lunch break will be taken.

The Bell pub in the village is currently closed, sadly it appears to be up for sale, so we will have to proceed west through Moat Farm, followed by Forstals Farm, close by Old House and through Cock Wood into Peasmarsh. After passing through Peasmarsh Park, we reach the church and re-join the High Weald Landscape Trail to follow this back to Rye, which is the same stretch followed on our walk a few weeks earlier on June 2nd.
