From the Village Hall, we walk out of Terrington village via the church and school before heading N to Wath Beck and Howthorpe Farm. We walk over Fryton Moor before descending through woodland to Ganthorpe for lunch. The return takes us down Mowthorpe Dale to Birkdale Farm before a gentle climb back up to Terrington on field paths.
The walk is through arable land, meadows and woods. It's mostly on good tracks and paths. One section, near a beck may be boggy, so stout boots are advised and poles could be useful on the descents. There are sheep, cattle and pigs on route. Some paths are overgrown with bramble, thistle and nettle so long trousers are advised. Dogs are welcome - on short lead for entire walk.
