Overview

The walk makes a gradual ascent along Sarn Helen, through the enclosed valley of Cwm Penamnen. It then turns right at Tan y Bwlch for a very steep ascent through a cleared pine plantation. At the summit there are extensive views of the Lledr valley and Moel Siabod (weather permitting!). We descend gradually to Pont Rufeinig. Then a short walk on a narrow road leads to Pen-y-rhiw where we turn to follow a bridleway past Castell Dolwyddelan to Bron-Llewelyn. From there we follow the A470 (pavement provided) to the start of the walk.
