Overview

A walk through the woodlands of the Sefton Dunes Nature Reserve.  Meeting at Ainsdale station we catch a Merseyrail train to Freshfield. We then follow paths parallel to the railway up to the crossing point. We then cross the golf course to the Fisherman’s path. We walk down this path to the end near the dunes which should provide a suitable lunch stop. We then follow various paths through and at the edge of the woodland towards Ainsdale. After emerging from the woods we then take the path under the main road and then make our way back to Sandringham Road.
Bring a packed lunch and drink for this walk.
