This is a leisurely 9 mile walk in open countryside. Starting at Selby Abbey, founded 1069, we walk through the town and along the riverside to Selby Lock to join the towpath at Selby Canal. We follow along the towpath for 3 miles, and we will stop for lunch at Burton Hall Bridge. Afterwards we head towards Selby Golf Club, crossing the A63, then skirting the edge of Brayton Barff Nature Reserve. We walk through Thorpe Willoughby and head back towards Selby across open fields, reaching Flaxley Road and continuing back to Selby Abbey.
