Overview

Assistance dogs only. Bring a packed lunch as there are many seats in Whatman Park. The walk is graded as moderate only if people wish to walk the extension, otherwise it is leisurely.
The Malta Inn allows liquid refreshment and there is also a small cafe for coffee or ice cream.

Terrain: Predominantly flat with no stiles. We walk to Tovil via Oakwood Park, Maidstone and then follow the River Medway via Whatman Park to Allington Lock. We will see seven bridges along the river and pass Allington Castle and the marina. The extension to Aylesford is similar terrain and we cross over the well-known Aylesford bridge.

Park half a mile down Castle Road on the right passed the second railway bridge. (Do NOT park before this to the left as this is the Community Association's car park for footballer's on a Sunday). The next car park, on the right, is correct and is Allington CP for dog walkers.
