A 12-mile walk from Shrewsbury to Montford Bridge (and back) along the Severn Way.
Much of this route skirts the River Severn, providing tranquil sights and sounds. Halfway to Montford Bridge, we will get a rare glimpse of Berwick House, a grade listed Georgian-Victorian country house tucked away to the north east of Shrewsbury. We will aim to have lunch on the banks opposite the estate.
We will then proceed on to Montford Bridge and emerge opposite the Wingfield Arms, where we will pause for refreshments.
The return leg will take us inland, away from the river, before rejoining the Severn near Shelton and winding our way back to Shrewsbury.
