A level walk starting and finishing in the old town of FAVERSHAM, using the Saxon Shore Way and the Swale Heritage Trail, to form a circuit inside the Faversham Creek and the Oare Creek. Most of the walk is on a grass embankment with a little more than 1 km on roadside pavement and attractive town streets. Extensive boat moorings and wild fowl on the creeks add interest to the walk. No stiles.
Park at any town centre car park where there are parking meters taking cash, card and Ringo parking app. For example, the Central Car Park (up to 4 hours) by the swimming pool is signposted can be approached by Bank St.or Leslie Smith Drive, ME13 8PW or Queens Hall Car Park off Forbes Road behind the Co-op near the station is a long stay car park. Unfortunately car parking is not cheap in Faversham, 3 hours is £4.50 or £6.00 for 4 hours or longer is £7.50, if you want to wander around Faversham after the walk. We would encourage car sharing for this walk if possible. The start and finish of this walk are at the mediaeval Market Place in the town centre, a short walk and signed from these car parks. Toilets in Central car parks which you have to walk through from the Long Stay car park by Queens Hall. This area is pedestrianised.
Refreshments at the many cafes, pubs and restaurants in Faversham or drive back to Oare where there are 2 pubs and a Creekside Cafe. Although we pass the Shipwrights Inn, they have limited parking and menu.
