Overview

Beautiful views of course (if it isn’t foggy). Starting on the Herefordshire Trail walking through fields and woodland and, after a bit of road work up a long hill, we’ll stop at Bacton Church. Then on along tracks and trails, rising and descending and passing Tremorithic and round to Mill Wood (and maybe Gworlodith, if time or energy) arriving at Fair Oak Farm. Then through fields again via Mardy and through Park Wood to return.

Hilly, some livestock and stiles for the connoisseur. We may be able to stop at Fair Oak Farm where we can see the only horse-drawn cider press in the country (but the horse is on its holidays) and maybe buy some cider.

St Margarets (Church). From the B4348 in Vowchurch turn right (from Bredwardine) or left (from Hereford) onto a minor road in a slight dip signposted: Vowchurch and Michaelchurch Escley (but you are not going that far). Pass Vowchurch church on your left and then over the small bridge to Turnastone. Pass through St Margarets and after a long climb you descend. Then go left at the crossroads, with signposts to St Margarets and Church. On for about 3 miles and you’ll see the church on your right after a bend. Please park in the church grounds to the left, facing the wall. Parking collection for church funds please.
