Overview

Starting at the carpark adjacent to the Community Cafe at Stevenston Beach. Walking towards Saltcoats we will circle back at the Esplanade and walk parallel to the railway to Stevenston Station. Across the level crossing we now head for Ardeer Wildlife Park and the old quarry. A well constructed path meanders through the young trees and the site of the long lost village of Piperheugh to reach the'' Nylon Plant'' road. Using the pavement now until we reach The Business Park, our route crosses the short grass and leads us to Golf Avenue. Following the perimeter fence of the Garnock Valley sewage works ( its fine, honest!) a faint path leads us to Stevenston Point. Back down on to the sand a short walk takes us back to the carpark.
