SUTTON CIRCULAR 10.00 am start at bridge on Bullocks Lane near Sutton Hall. A pleasant walk with views of the local area.
Approximately 5 miles. Ascent 461ft. The ascent is split into 3 climbs in the first part of the walk: a steep climb up Judy Lane (a quiet road) near the beginning, another short climb through a field to the coffee stop and a slight climb towards the Hollins. There are 4 (although possibly only 2) very sturdy wooden “step” stiles. It may be possible to avoid 2 of them if the adjacent gates are open. As quite a bit of the walk is on roads, tracks and towpath, there shouldn’t be too much mud.
Route: Bullocks Lane, field to Walker Lane, Judy Lane, Ridge Hill, field to Langley Road, field up to Birch Knoll, the Hollins, Canal back to start.
Bring snack and drink for coffee stop. No toilets on the walk, but available in nearby Fairways Garden Centre near the start/end of walk.
Lifts available from Handforth area - contact Melanie.
