Using the bus, this varied linear walk explores Cairn Woodland Local Nature Reserve, going onto the Tarka Trail and passing the Slade reservoirs. Crossing farmland with good coastal views and onto the SWCP. Steep slopes near the beginning and several stiles. Option for drinks at the end. Busses return form Ilfracombe at 16.05; 16.35; 17.10.

This is a moderate walk but taken at a leisurely pace so that we can look at the views, take photos etc.
This is a linear walk. There is no car parking available, so we travel to the start point by bus from Barnstaple, and return by bus from Ilfracombe. Walkers can join the bus at any point along the route through Pottington, Wrafton, Braunton, Knowle. Alternatively Ilfracombe area walkers can catch the 21B from Ilfracombe and arrive at Lower Slade Score Lodge at 10.38am, then cross the road to meet the Barnstaple bus.
Meet at Barnstaple Bus Station at 09.50am to catch the 10.04am bus 21B from stand G. Depart bus at Lower Slade Score Lodge stop at about 10.40am for the start of the walk.
