Overview

Starting from the Glen Mary Bridge car park we follow the path that runs along Tom Ghyll, stopping at the main waterfall for a few moments and passing others on the way. After a short ascent we reach the Tarn, following its edge until the end where we take the Cumbria Way path passing Stone Chair Hill and Griddle How. We follow the road for a short distance before taking the path to Sheepfold and Hollin Bank, changing direction and ascending until we reach Low Arnside Ford and Iron Keld where we make a short detour to Black Crag and take in the wonderful view of Lake Windermere. Once back on the main path we enter the Iron Keld Plantation, heading East to re-join the Cumbria Way. Back at the Tarn we follow the Eastern shore passing the Rose Castle plantation and Rose Castle. At the end of the Tarn we make our way into the woodland again and make our descent back to the car park
