We follow the south bank of the Thames for this very pleasant riverside walk. We pass Chiswick Bridge, Barnes Bridge, Hammersmith Bridge and Putney Bridge. Bring a packed lunch and drink. The walk could be shortened at Hammersmith Bridge after 4.75 miles by catching a bus or train back to Richmond. There is a cafe and toilet in Barnes.
The walk starts from Kew Bridge (south side) If travelling by train catch the 09:53 from Windsor, 09:56 from Datchet to arrive at Staines at 10:07. We change trains at Staines to catch the 10:33 to arrive at Kew Bridge station at 10.57. Buy a Return ticket to Putney.
The walk finishes at Putney Bridge, and it is a 10-minute walk to Putney station for the train home.
