A lot of variety in a relatively short distance.
We start at Theydon Bois and head into the heart of Epping Forest, emerging into buffer land* to skirt around Copped Hall; a beautiful Georgian mansion whose burnt out shell used to be an imposing landmark. Copped Hall is now substantially restored after almost thirty years of work by the Copped Hall Trust and the house can only be visited on specified days in the year as it is having to earn its keep as a wedding and conference venue.
We continue to the north of the M25 through Warlies Park, Cornmill Meadows Dragonfly Sanctuary and the Lee Valley Park before dropping down to Waltham Cross Station.
* Farms owned by the City of London Corporation to protect the edges of Epping Forest
No booking required.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors, such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
