This is a terrific winter walk across starkly beautiful moorland and sandhills with sweeping views to Frensham Ponds. There are no stiles, no steep ascents and only one short steep descent. There is hardly any road walking and few buildings.
We start from Stockbridge car park which is just off the Tilford - Rushmoor road, south of Tilford. Most of the route is across sandy soil, but there are some patches of mud, which should be avoidable. Some may find walking poles useful for the short steep descent. Please bring a picnic and any other refreshments you may need, although, provided we make good time we should be able to stop at the café at Frensham Great Pond for lunch. There are public loos at both Frensham Great and Little Ponds.
