Only a 35 minute drive from Kingswood, we will enjoy a walk through the industrial landscape of the Wye Valley.
We will walk through the scenic Angidy Valley to Abbey Tintern Furnace, passing numerous industrial remains along the way.
After a short climb up through Glyn Woods we will then walk back down the wooded valleyside to the River Wye, passing the ruined remains of St Mary’s Church and the iconic Tintern Abbey. We should be there at the right time to see lots of bluebells in the woods.
Some uneven ground and could be muddy if we have had any rain. Sticks and walking boots recommended.
Just before we get back to the cars after the walk we pass Tintern Abbey. If you want to have a closer look you can pay to visit the Abbey: Tintern Abbey | Cadw
We can have a drink in the nearby Anchor Inn or the Tea Rooms. We can also book a Sunday Lunch at the Anchor. If you would like to join us to eat, please let Chris know (chrissawyer@blueyonder.co.uk) before 19 April so she can book a table.
We will have a short break so please bring drinks and a snack.
Please remember to bring your ICE (In Case of Emergency) cards in your pocket.
