A circular route around the market town of Todmorden on the Yorkshire - Lancashire border. Taking in the sights of some impressive rock formations on the surrounding hilltops, green valleys and forestry before finishing up for a well earned beer or coffee in Toddmorden.
Walk distance is about 9 miles, has an ascent of about 550m, and should take between 4.5 and 5.5 hours. The walk contains some steep climbs, particularly in the early stages.
There is also likely to be quite a lot of muddy footpath stretches due to the recent wet weather.
Unfortunately dogs cannot be permitted on the walk due to the presence of livestock.
Todmorden has regular train services from Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield. The 09:18am service from Leeds arrives into Todmorden at 10:15am.
There is a good amount of pay and display parking at Todmorden train station and some on-street parking nearby.
Todmorden train station has no toilet facilities and there are none on the route. So it is advised that you use facilities either in nearby cafes or on trains before the walk starts.
