Anti-clockwise.
A repeat of the walk I led for TAH on 15.08.15, 06.08.16, 24.07.21 and 29.07.23.
Please note this is a Hard Walk - Not for the inexperienced and a good level of fitness is required.
Hope to Win Hill trig point. Via Hope Cross to Crookstone Knoll. At Oller Brook leave the path and go to Edale Moor trig point. Rejoin the path at Nether Tor then continue along the path to Noe Stool. At Noe Stool cut across the peat to Kinder Low trig point. Briefly follow the Pennine Way then go to Brown Knoll trig point. Along Rushup Edge to Mam Tor trig point and Lose Hill then back to Hope. A working torch might be required for the last section of the walk.
I did this route for the first time on 22.02.14 with some friends. Including breaks we took just under 9 1/2 hours to complete the walk. I did this route by myself on 25.05.24, including breaks it took me 10 hours to complete the walk.
This will be the fifth time I've led this walk for TAH, and will probably be the last time I lead it for TAH. I like to alter the route slightly from the route that starts in Edale; starting in Hope, and visiting the trig points of Edale Moor and Kinder Low. It would be good to see someone else in TAH leading this walk sometime in the future.
I led a different 20 mile walk for TAH in 2022 and 2024 (Monsal Head & Magpie Mine). I probably won't lead that one again for TAH.
