Welcome to Capital Walkers, the friendly London Ramblers group for people aged 40+. We walk every weekend and usually at least once during the week.
We will be starting this lovely 8-9 mile, moderate circular walk by crossing Tolworth Court Farm Fields which can be muddy and slippery in wet weather so sturdy walking boots (and poles if you have them). We will head down to join the gentle Hogsmill river and follow this to Bonesgate stream. We then enter Castle Hill Nature Reserve which has a small, wooded hill but no castle! From here we merge with Horton Country Park with all weather footpaths but do take care. We will head towards Horton Arts Centre where we will make a brief stop then proceed to Bourne Hall in Ewell where we will stop for lunch. There are a few pubs including The Famous Green Man and The Spring Tavern. After lunch we will follow the Hogsmill river back to Tolworth.
Take the 09.47 train from London Waterloo arriving at 10.15 at Tolworth.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors, such as weather, the speed at which the group walks and number of stops we take.
