Overview

A 6.5 mile walk led by Sue C from Tower Hill Station to Wapping Station with the option to walk on to London Bridge Station (2.5 miles).  A walk through a variety of docks, with a few surprises. Lunch at Shadwell Basin. 'The Prospect of Whitby' is fully booked for meals but available for drinks. 'Dockside Market' opposite has stalls serving street food and a large covered seating area. Then along the River Thames to Wapping and London Bridge. Map: E173, London A-Z.

This walk replaces Newington to Gillingham which follows the Saxon Shore Way because the River Medway shoreline with its saltings, marshes and mudflats is likely to be unpleasantly wet and muddy.
