Overview

Popular Essex circular walk led by Nigel S (Mobile No: 07793 629809) at a moderate pace which starts along a dyke by the Thames, passing Two Tree Island, a nature reserve and Hadleigh Marsh to reach Benfleet.  The route climbs through Hadleigh Country Park, the 2012 Olympic mountain bike site, a medieval castle (a good picnic spot) and goes down to Leigh-on-Sea; pubs, cafés and a small sandy beach for swimmers.  Map: E175, L178.
