An exploration of Dentdale. Leaving town on the Dales High Way and climbing over Frostrow (highest point of day at 290m). We will drop down to the River Dee and return along riverside path/minor road following the lower Dales Way. Note that route is likely to be wet underfoot, particularly on the open fellside, which is a long and exposed section of the route. The return riverside path is wet and rocky and rough in places and there are a number of stiles some of which are awkward.
Signposted paths but open fellside may be wet and muddy. Stiles along riverside path.
Moderate with one long exposed but gradual climb in the early stages of the walk up to Frostrow.
Dogs: No restrictions but a number of stiles and could encounter livestock en route.
cafes/pubs and shops in Sedbergh – none en route
Toilets at start.
