Overview

From the car park we walk along the canal to Llangynidr locks, ascending to Pen-y-Beili for a coffee stop.

Continuing along the Beacons Way with views of the Duffryn Crawnon Valley we stop for lunch overlooking Talybont Reservoir.

A stretch of road takes us to the Usk Valley Walk with views of the Black Mountains and along the canal back to Llangynidr.

All the ascent is before lunch and the Red Lion is nearby for refreshments afterwards.
