This figure of eight walk can be undertaken walking the full 13 miles or by joining at either the 10.00 am start or the 14.00 start.
Open fields (sheep country so no dogs please), woodlands and short stretches on country lanes take us past a motte and bailey, through Wardley Wood, then Stockerston and up King’s Hill back to Uppingham.
After an hour, for lunch and sight-seeing in Uppingham, we restart at 2pm to take in Lyddington where Bede House is located, Seaton and then back through Bisbrooke.
No dogs as it is primarily grazing country and we walk across many fields. Please park considerately on Cottesmore Road or nearby. Meet me at the bus stop on the main Leicester road called the “Queens Road bus stop” for the LC7 bus. We are not catching the bus. What3words not the meeting point but is a good place to aim your car at for parking, you will see the bus stop easily from there.
1100 feet of ascent over the 13 miles of the full route, so please come fully supplied with
rations and liquids.
Poles (if you use them) and sturdy boots recommended.
