Overview

This walk starts from St James Church, Birdham heading down Westlands Lane through the village to the shoreline for a stretch, then turns off across fields to Shipton Green and onwards towards West Wittering. A final bit of pavement walking takes us to the Landing Cafe for a coffee break, either in the cafe or on the Green, where there are plenty of seats. Continuing from here, the route follows the coast to West Itchenor where we stop for lunch. There are the options of cafe, pub or picnic here, looking across the bay to Bosham. The final length offers the opportunity to see a mother elephant and baby (?), while walking close to the shore and hopefully gives the chance to view yachts in the harbour and a variety of marine birds. This segment  take us close to Birdham Pool Marina before turning away from the sea back to the church.
