Overview

A steep climb then wooded and open downland followed by a steep descent

Head to West Burton via field and woodland then ascend Bury Hill (steep especially the upper section: 16%). Descend into Houghton Forest, then climb steadily for about 3.5mi to the high point at Glatting Beacon. Pass Bignor Hill (views of the Arun valley) before a steep descent (10%) back to West Burton and retrace the route back to the cars.
