Do join us for this walk starting from The Friars at Aylesford, the first Carmelite priory in Britain, founded in the 13th century.
Leaving Aylesford, we’ll follow farm paths and quiet roads to join the North Downs Way near Little Kit’s Coty House. Then it’s a fairly steep climb to Kit’s Coty burial chamber, where we’ll take a break by the ancient stones. We return to Aylesford alongside Kit’s Coty vineyard whose lime-rich chalk soil and micro-climate generate premium wines for Chapel Down.
Very few stiles (number of stiles to be confirmed one week before the walk)
Although the walk is suitable for dogs on short leads, only assistance dogs are welcome in the grounds of The Friars. Walking your dog from the car park to the public footpaths is OK.
Non-members are welcome to join this walk as one of their three free Ramblers taster walks. Please contact the walk leader beforehand to check that the walk is suitable for you.
