A circular walk. The morning consists of a steady climb onto the Preseli ridge and heading around to Foel Cwmcerwyn. After dropping steeply off the summit we will stop for lunch at Craig y Cwm mine. After crossing open moorland and navigating through Glynaeron Forest, the is a short climb onto the second hill of the day which is Mynydd Bach. The route then heads onto the moor at Gors Fawr.
*Recce occurred on 10 January 2026 in wintery conditions and added photo's are taken from this trip. There is no guarantee of snow on the day of the walk!! Pro's: the summit of Foel Cwmcerwyn, Craig y Cwm mine, open moorland and only one stile. Cons: Muddy paths and exposure to March weather with little by way of shelter.
Sorry not suitable for dogs.
Please check the walks programme the afternoon before the walk for any changes.
