Overview

A circular walk. The morning consists of a steady climb onto the Preseli ridge and heading around to Foel Cwmcerwyn. After dropping steeply off the summit we will stop for lunch at Craig y Cwm mine.  After crossing open moorland and navigating through Glynaeron Forest, the is a short climb onto the second hill of the day which is Mynydd Bach. The route then heads onto the moor at Gors Fawr.

*Recce occurred on 10 January 2026 in wintery conditions and added photo's are taken from this trip. There is no guarantee of snow on the day of the walk!! Pro's: the summit of Foel Cwmcerwyn, Craig y Cwm mine, open moorland and only one stile. Cons: Muddy paths and exposure to March weather with little by way of shelter.
