A linear walk of approximately 9 miles, climbing from Langbank railway station on the River Clyde to 191 metres at Knockmountain before dropping down to Kilmacolm and along the disused railway track (Sustrans Route 75) to Port Glasgow. Country lanes, hill paths, tarmac.

Walkers should meet outside M&S Simply Food on the main concourse at Glasgow Central railway station at 9.00, ready to catch the 9.20 train to Gourock. Purchase a return ticket to PORT GLASGOW but alight at Langbank at 9.48.
