A linear walk using the X85 bus to take us from Kirkintilloch to Clachan of Campsie, and our legs to take us back to Kirkie. A steep pull up the hill from Clachan of Campsie (at an easy pace) and along to Cort ma Law, hopefully for some lovely views, down the farm track towards Glorat House and out to the road, and then along the Thomas Muir trail back to Kirkintilloch.
There's a twin walk to this one starting at the same time that will walk back to Kirkie along the flat, without the hill, for those who prefer a flatter walk.
We're getting the x85 bus that leaves Kirkintilloch at 0852. (It's the one that leaves Glasgow bus station at 0831). It's fine to get on this bus before or after Kirkie, if that's more convenient for you. It's also fine to make your own way to the start at Clachan of Campsie, but if you're driving you'll probably want to park at Southbank and then you can walk back to the car.
If we're lucky there will be snow to enjoy. Even if not it might be icy. You'll probably want spikeys for your boots, and you'll definitely want some warm clothing. If the weather is particularly horrible we'll go the low level route and avoid the hill entirely.
