Overview

Starting from Ormskirk Station we will follow the Smith Way to pick up the route the horses would have taken to the Remount Depot at Lathom Park.   We will pass Lathom Chapel to continue across farm land to pass the site of Burscough Priory and the Abbey caravan site where we will have lunch, then return via Lady Alice's Walk and Ruff Wood to Ormskirk  The walk is flat but there may be muddy patches on the farm tracks. Park on the cobbled area to the side of the station car park, as this does not belong to the station.
