Join the Chiltern Young Walkers for Day 4 of our Movement: Moving more for our mental health week with a walk through Wendover Woods.
This year's Mental Health Awareness week has the theme of "Movement: Moving more for your mental health". As we know that improving, or maintaining our mental health, is a key benefit of walking and a common reason why people walk with the Chiltern Young Walkers, we wanted to recognise this week with a series of evening walks from Monday the 13th to Friday the 17th May.
This will be just like any other walk we do, but we hope that by recognising MH Awareness Week with these extra walks we can help to break down any taboos around mental health and raise awareness of the benefits of walking - alone or with a group! So please do come along on one or more of these walks.
The walk shall offer a reasonable ascent (500ft) over its 5.25 miles and includes sights of; Bacombe Hill Nature Reserve, Coombe Hill and the medieval village of Dunsmore.
The walk begins and ends in Wendover Library Car Park. Parking is free from 17:30 but be sure to get a free ticket to cover as this is still required before 18:30.
The walk will round off at The George and Dragon for anyone interested.
Appropriate hiking footwear is recommended. As are waterproofs, incase the need arise, and appropriate trousers (e.g. not jeans).
Dogs are welcome, however we ask owners to make sure they are kept on their leads at all times and are well behaved.
Please bring food and water for the walk as there will be limited opportunities to purchase anything until returning to Wendover at the end of the walk though.
