At the start of the ramble we cross the main road twice before we start our exploration of the countryside. Walking through pasture, green lanes, ploughed fields, quiet country lanes and gravel tracks and the edge of Haverfordwest race course to returning to Pelcombe Bridge lay by. Stopping at Portfield Gate nature reserve.Ground conditions vary from tarmac or gravel to soft pasture. There are some low tree branches over the green lanes approaching Palmerston. Given the time of year expect mud in places - gaiters recommended ( if you have them)

Please park at the southern end of the lay-by on the opposite side to the church, away from the Rising sun. Potential after ramble watering hole is the Pelcomb Inn, Pelcomb Cross a mile away.
