Meet: Currie Library 9am to leave at 9.15am or at West Linton 9.45am for 10am start. The meeting point is the information board on Lower Green to the west of the church.
Directions: From Currie take the bypass A720 to the Fairmilehead exit and then the A702 to West Linton. A short distance after the roundabout upon entering the village take a left just before The Gordon Arms onto Main Street. Continue along this street until St Andrews Kirk on your right - postcode EH46 7EE. There should be ample parking here but if not turn right just before the Olde Toll Tea House onto Lower Green.
Walk: A moderate walk (260 feet ascent) with some lovely views of the hills on generally good paths with some muddy sections (gaiters and poles recommended) with a longish section on very quiet sealed road with grass verges on both sides.
We proceed up The Loan to the Roamers Wood where we will have an early coffee break at The Ceilidh Circle. We then briefly join the Roman Road , pass the Sillar Holes and then follow a track above Lyne Water before dropping down to the river where we will have lunch. We then return along a road before crossing a bridge over the Lyne Water and through a wood to the village - there is a descent of 66 minimal drop wide steps.
There are public toilets in the village but none on the walk.
