Starting from the village of Dymock we follow Daffodil Way paths towards Allums Grove wood then on to Kempley Old Church. The church has some of the best preserved medieval wall paintings in Britain dating from the early 12th century. An absolute gem of a church and we will take our morning break here. We continue to Kempley village, pass Kempley Green then on to Dymock Wood particularly attractive in spring with its show of wild daffodils. We will take a picnic lunch around here. Exiting the wood we cross the motorway and take a short circuit of Betty Daw daffodil wood. We recross the motorway and pick up another Daffodil Way track through open country – wonderful views of the Malverns – back to Dymock. We will have a short mid-afternoon break at Dymock pub and complete the walk with a circuit to the north of the village following field paths and quiet lanes. Walk distance: 11.5 miles. Picnic lunch. Leader Brenda Cameron.
