We will be walking around the Knepp estate which is in the process of being wilded. We may see some wild life particularly fallow deer, and perhaps but unlikely as it is late in the season, storks which had been missing from Britain for many centuries until they started to nest at Knepp a few years ago. Also to be seen are rabbits, semi-wild english longhorn cattle and perhaps tamworth pigs. Because of the wilding process other unusual birds are to be seen in the right season such as Turtle Doves.
We may visit a bird hide adjacent to a hammer pond and a tree vantage point.
The walk is fairly flat and many of the paths are wide. Some short lengths of country lanes.
If you have any queries, please contact the Walk Leader by text on the mobile number above.
Dogs should be kept on leads but are otherwise OK. There are toilets at the start and end of the walk. There is a cafe and shop which sells wild game meat amongst other things.
We will start the walk at 10:30, quarter of an hour later as this walk is further from Guildford than usual.
