An opportunity for a leisurely walk around Windsor Great Park and a chance to see the red deer during the conclusion of the annual rut. We are likely to see the deer as soon as we enter the deer park and its important for us to keep together and at least 50 metres away from the deer so that we can observe and not cause them any concern. Our route will take us around the deer park through a delightful wooded area and then pass close to the Royal Lodge where Andrew (formerly known as Prince) Mountbatten-Windsor currently resides before he is banished to his new home. We will stop at the Copper Horse for our picnic lunch before continuing out of the deer park, through the village and then to pass close to Forest Lodge the new home of Prince William and family. We then leave the Great Park through the Rangers Gate crossing the busy A322 in to stag meadow before looping back around to the cars
Absolutely no dogs.
Risk of tics in long wet grass.
Please bring your own picnic lunch
Please do not walk ahead of the walk leader particularly in the deer park where caution is required at all times. There will be opportunities to take pictures for the group photo competition
