A joint Group short Saturday walk.
A 5.75 mile fairly flat walk from Netley railway station, through the Royal Victoria Country Park and along the shore of Southampton Water to Hamble village. Snacks and hot drinks available at the coffee stop on Hamble Quay, or bring your own refreshments. Return via the Hamble rail trail to Netley station. Some walking will be on loose shingle.
No need to book for this walk, just turn up in time for the start. The walk will be at a moderate pace (not leisurely).
Please note that the start time of 10.30 has been scheduled to coincide with the arrival at Netley station of the 09.46 train from Portsmouth and Southsea. Car parking is free.
Netley Railway Station car park, in front of the station. (Using the postcode with Satnav may take you to the rear carpark). From the Tesco roundabout at the top of Hamble Lane, cross 2 mini-roundabouts and 1 set of traffic lights. After 2 miles, at the roundabout take the second exit onto Hound Road. In 0.7 miles, cross the railway bridge and after 150 m follow the sign to Netley station on the left.
