An easy walk on local paths, starting from the Hermitage Woods estate in St John's across the wooded parts of St John's Lye to the newly opened replacement footbridge over the railway near Woking Golf Club, then two paths over the golf course to reach Gorse Hill and then Hook Heath, down to St John's and back to the start along the Basingstoke Canal towpath. Minimal ascent and descent.
There are perhaps more obvious places to try to start the walk, but there are likely to be insufficient parking places either on St John's Lye or by St John's church.
Roadside parking near 76 Hermitage Woods Crescent. There are signs for "Basingstoke Canal" and "Titan Trail". Please take care not to block any residents' driveways.
