Overview

The walk goes up the main Wrekin Trail through forest then open ground near the top. A steady ascent for about 45 minutes will get us to the summit, with a stop for coffee and to admire the views. Part of the descent is quite steep, with loose stones on the path, so walking poles are recommended. We drop back down into woodland to complete the walk. A slight (uphill) detour on the way back will take us to the Halfway House, where refreshments are available.

Parking - see photo. There is some free parking by the side of the road before you get to Forest Glen car park, then space for about 4 vehicles on Ercall Lane. Note that both the road leading up to the car park and Ercall Lane are ONE WAY - it's quite a long detour to get back to the free parking if you miss a space! The picture shows the parking charges - £4 for 12 hours. Meet at w3w///slogans.unable.expel
