Starting from the ever popular Wye, this 13-mile walk is one you won't want to miss. So lace up those boots and come and get some fresh air in the lungs, on this invigorating hike, up hill and down dale throughout the surrounding countryside.
We begin gently, leaving the village along the North Downs Way, heading in a westerly direction, we leave and then re-join the NDW a couple of times as we ascend through Soakham Downs and into King's Wood. After following a route through the woodland, we then head down a byway to soon pass through the delightful Jane Austen inspired Godmersham Park. Then, after crossing the busy A28, we ascend steadily to make our way to the remote Crundale church.
Heading along the brow of Crundale Downs, our route once again returns to the NDW to pass above Wye Crown. From there it is now downhill all the way, and that is the truth, on our return to Wye and a well deserved drink.
This walk, most definitely falls into the moderate grading with 1260 foot of ascent, but what do climbs mean, good views of course.
Don't forget to bring your sandwiches and your pork pie or whatever lunchtime tit bits take your fancy.
At the end of the walk those that wish can partake in drinks at the New Flying Horse, the usual suspects will no doubt be in attendance.
