Join the York Ramblers for a circular walk from the start of the Cleveland Way in Helmsley.
We leave Helmsley on the Clevland Way National Trail following it to Rievaulx Bridge where we’ll have the morning coffee break. Soon after the bridge the walk leaves the Clevland Way and joins a footpath around Ashberry Hill, with views of Rievaulx Abbey, through Ashberry Wood to the eastern end of Oxen Dale. The route then takes us through Lambert Hag Wood and the Ashberry Nature Reserve, managed by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, to Ashberry Farm from where we rejoin the Clevland Way to return to Helmsley with good views of the Castle along the way.
Meet at the stones marking the start / end of the Cleveland Way near the Helmsley Castle Car Park Toilets (please see attached photo).
