We are the York Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
From the parking area opposite Lockton Cemetery we cross the A169 and head towards Low Staindale then up the hill to the Bridestones. After the Bridestones we pick up the Old Wifes Way to Saltergate Brow.
Crossing the A169 again we reach the top of the Hole of Horcum. Lunch will taken here overlooking the Hole. After lunch we walk down into the Hole and pass Low Horcum and walk through grass fields to reach Warren Farm. We then take the high route back to the cars at Lockton.
There may be cows in a couple of fields but were no trouble on the recce.
This is a pleasant undulating walk with fine views.
