Overview

Where we will walk

Tracks, forest paths, field paths and lanes.

We start walking north and then west, skirting the village of Pockley. Then we descend into Riccal Dale and walk north following the river until we reach Hasty Bank. There we climb up to Beadlam Rigg, where we have lunch. By this time most of the climbing is over, and the route turns east. At about 12k we turn south and begin an easy descent along lanes and tracks back to Nawton. We are likely to encounter many pheasants during the middle part of the route, assuming they haven’t all been shot by then.
